Eric has been in IT leadership for over 42 years. During that 42 years, he has:
● Founded, Owned, and led three IT-centric entrepreneurial businesses that are still going strong:
○ Timberline Data Systems - Timber Industry Inventory Data Processing since 1982, sold
1989
○ Apex Technology Management - Managed Services Provider since 1991, sold 2005
○ CHIRPStrong.com - Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on-demand consulting &
training since 2019
● Eric has also led non-profit, Non-Government, IT Service Organizations in:
○ Papua New Guinea, Kudjip Nazarene Hospital, Provided all services, including IT
services, to operate Off Grid, a 130-bed hospital and a small “city”/village with 300
people.
○ Manila Philippines, Asia Pacific Resource Center, Provided Custom Global Accounting
Software and Global Remote Delivery IT Services
● And after moving back to Redding, he was the IT Director for:
○ Enterprise Elementary School District in Redding, CA, IT Director for seven years.
● Eric has created and implemented:
○ Disaster Recovery Plans and Business Continuity Plans since 1982
○ Cyber Risk Reduction Strategies since 1982 and his sole work focus since 2018
● His current entrepreneurial endeavor is CHIRPStrong.com, which he founded in 2019.
○ CHIRP = Cyber Health & Incident Response Planning
○ Health = Healthy IT People, Healthy IT Teams & Healthy IT Systems and Methods
○ Strong = Just that, strength to go the distance, however far that may be.
● Some of CHIRPStrong’s clients include:
○ Shasta Union High School District provides complete IT Services to 33 other school
districts and county offices of education from the Oregon border to Sacramento.
○ County of Shasta, while Eric worked a 6-month stint as an employee in the IT
Department.
○ Sierra Pacific Industries, 30+ Sawmills in the Pacific Northwest, and 70+ Windows
Manufacturing and Sales Offices across the USA.
○ McConnell Foundation, a major $300 Million philanthropic foundation in Redding, CA
● Since 2019, Eric has also led and facilitated two Roundtable Groups for the NorCal area:
○ Corporate Information Officers (CIO) Roundtable
○ Corporate Information Security Officers (CISO) Roundtable
